P. Patel’s Mission Planner
Search the live debris catalog to find your object, then generate a preliminary mission plan. P. Patel will calculate real orbital parameters: delta-V requirements, fuel allocation, approach window, and vehicle assignment. The plan will be version 8 at minimum. Versions 1 through 7 have been retired. This is not optional.
How P. Patel plans a mission
P. Patel has planned every ORC mission since 2013. The current plan version is V11 for one mission and V8 for the rest. Plans below V8 were retired. The reasons are documented. The document is V4 of itself.
Orbital characterisation
Live orbital parameters are retrieved directly from the US Space Surveillance Network catalog. Altitude, inclination, period, and radar cross-section drive the core calculations. P. Patel does not accept parameters provided without a NORAD reference. P. Patel has said this clearly. On multiple occasions.
Delta-V & fuel estimate
P. Patel calculates the Hohmann transfer delta-V from the vehicle’s parking orbit to the target orbit, plus inclination correction and proximity operations reserve. Finance is informed of the fuel estimate at this stage. Finance then comments. Finance always comments.
Plan issued
The preliminary plan is issued for regulatory review. L. Sandhu reviews. A. Kowalski coordinates. M. Hargreaves authorises. C. Morrison is already drafting the report. The plan is never final until it is complete. Even then, C. Morrison may add a note.
